Telemedicine for Workers
Compensation Injuries
Western Integrated Care in partnership with Kaiser On-the-Job and Concentra Medical Centers is offering to provide injured workers with immediate access to medical treatment online via smartphone, tablet, or computer. Advanced telemedicine capabilities are beginning to transform the workers’ compensation industry, providing injured workers with a much-needed alternative to on-site medical care.
Kaiser On-the-Job and Concentra Medical Centers uses licensed medical providers experienced in occupational health and workers’ compensation to give injured workers the option of accessing nonemergency medical treatment, with no need to visit a medical facility.
Western Integrated Care’s telemedicine service allows injured employees to video chat with a medical provider using video conferencing. The medical provider can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication, and telemedicine can be used for the initial visit, follow-up visits and re-checks.
The telemedicine service is recommended for minor injuries not requiring an in-person medical visit, including minor strains and repetitive use injuries, contusions, bruises, scrapes, rashes and burns, and sprains and strains.
How It Works
- Simply call the closest Kaiser On-the-Job or Concentra Medical Center for pre-screening questions and instructions.

Prescriptions for diagnostic testing, physical therapy, medication, and referrals to specialists are all possible with a telemedicine physician.
- Easy to use technology that enables convenience and saves time away from work, while maintaining a personal interaction between provider and patient.
- Conduct a video visit from a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
- Employee receives instructions on how to access telemedicine.
- Telemedicine visit complete. If follow up is needed, medical provider will schedule and send notice to injured worker.
